She's brown, beautiful and mine :)
OK, OK, brown isn't the best color on a 911. But then Porsche used so many funky colors in the '70s. One of the reasons Porsche is Porsche. They are cutting edge in everything when it comes to building a sports car.
I can't think of a color I would bother to repaint my car. Maybe the signal yellow I had the engine powder coated in. But then would that match the new interior? Guess it will always be mocha brown. Not bad for a '79 wearing original paint. The new engine eats tires but still gets 20+ miles per gallon all while hauling ass above 5K rpm. All done with the hassle free CIS still intact. Did I mention I really like my car ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Feeling a little protective today, are we Dane?
![]() No one can argue she's beautiful. In fact, that's the look i'm modeling for mine, now that i have a budget of about 5k. Should be done in a few months! -Ian |

Sorry but the last time I sat in a metallic brown car was back in '78 when my parents made me take my driving test in their Ford Maverick......enough said. Still like the rest of your car thought rdane...especially that motor.
![]() PS..... I don't care what mileage it gets. When it gets low, put more in and hit the go pedal....all the way!

That's a beautiful car! One of the first 911s I fell in love with was Brown. Don't change a thing.

![]() I like brown 911's because they're not as common. Everywhere I go, its either red, silver, or black. Brown 911's look good and arent common. If your car was red, then Id understand why you might consider a paintjob, but 911's look good in any color. ![]() |

Nothing wrong with that color.
I remember looking at an SC that color at Vasek Polak years ago and found the color interesting and rich looking. ![]() |

Too funny! Seats? Ricaro, Pole Positions, in leather. Any Ricaro dealer can get them for you. |

Thanks guys
![]() ![]() Jack you have enough great pics of BBI, II and the OTC to print a coffee table book all by yourself! Is that a possibility? Last edited by rdane; 08-29-2004 at 09:14 PM.. |

Brown is a good classic Porsche color and it doesnt say, "pull me over". I have the rosewood color on my car and always get good comments. Maybe the people that do not like it take the philosophy that if you dont have something good to say, dont say anything. Rosewood looks great clean but like s*&% dirty.
