used 3.2 value ?

Unfortunately I seem to have contracted the turbo bug and I'm wondering... I've been seeing some turbo motors for sale lately. What would a high-milage 3.2 (87) be worth? About 145k all stock. Good leakdowns. Needs valve guides. I've seen used 3.2s going from 5k to 7.5k, but these are much lower milage.

Check out the used parts classifieds. There is an advertisement for a 3.2 turbo upgrade that you could look into buying for some good HP's. Just an idea. I would say that with worn valve guides you might be looking at 4500 to 5500, but that is just my guess and could be way off. Good luck with your project.

Turbo the 3.2 = you'll be better off. Most turbo guys change the CIS to the Carrera Intake and injection anyway - you are 1/2 way there.

If I were you - I'd go to JB Racing with your car and see what they could do for you... You have the g-50 in there - which will handle the HP...

I'm sure it's possible to upgrade the 3.0 to a turbo.

But is it Practical?

Overhaul your 3.2 and supercharge.

I just sold a 1989 3.2L (with DME etc) with ~115K to a friend for $5500. If I had to crate it up and ship it somewhere I think I would have charged more.

FWIW I've been kinda following a motor on eBay from Oklahoma Foreign. It is a reasonable mileage 3.2, (intake to exhaust, tach and wiring harnes w/DME) and they're having trouble getting the $5995 opening bid. (The auction has been up two or three times w/no bids at all.) I guess it just depends on how fast you want to sell it, but I wouldn't guess it'll go for much. Not if it "needs work".

I sold my 210K 3.2L for $3800. It was running good but getting tired. Purchased a 75K 3.2L with MAF, new clutch and pressure plate for just over $7K (I think....bad memory)

I'd guess mid $4K to $5K for yours but that's just a WAG.

Thanks for the input guys, but you were supposed to say it would be worthless so as to discourage this kind of foolish endevour. Thanks again.
