What octane rating?

do most of the 1987 or around there owners use? The manual seemed to indicate the need for 93 (or highest available) octane. But that was 18 years ago. Does it still hold true?

Every engine is different. My late production 86 3.2 ( identical to your 87) runs fine on 87 octane.
