Tires Mounted Wrong...My Fault????

So, I take my 6's & 7's to my local tire shop to have some 205's and 225's I had drop shipped there mounted. I didn't want to sound condescending, so I said nothing about which tires went on which rims. Danged if they didn't get two of 'em wrong.

Was I wrong to not give that detail?

In their defense, they immediately fixed the problem, but still....

I once had to go into great detail about uni-directional tires at this one shop I was getting tires installed and balanced. I didn't think it was necessary to have to explain that it does matter which way the tires are installed on the rim. Apparently I was wrong....

I guess when you hire some flunky at $7 bucks an hour to do basic auto repair in your shop....you get what you pay for!

No, it's their fault. What kind of tire guy worth his salt would put the bigger tire on the smaller wheel? They need to hire some semi-skilled labor...

This happens to me all the time. I usually give them a few hints, and they still screw it up, even at the family-owned better tire places. I suppose 95+% of their customers are on bidirectional tires all the same size.
