What is the proper size wiper blade for '87?
The PO installed 13" wiper blades but at that length the drivers side can't be set horizontal at rest. It looks odd with the blade up at about 10-15 degrees from horizontal. With 12" blades I should be able to set it horizontal. Comments?

Bosch 40713 is the correct blade, it's a 13" version. Fits all 911s from 1965 - 1993. Changing the blade won't affect the park line. Sounds like the arm needs adjusting.

HOW COME THE LAST TWO INCHES OF THE BLADE DOES'N'T CONTACT THE WINDSHIELD ON THE FAR LEFT WHEN AT REST? (FACTORY SETUP)

That's a question for Porsche AG. Looking a three 911s here of various years and they all look the same to me, the last inch or so of the blade doesn't touch the screen when parked. That's the maximum curvature of the glass.

Hi Bob,
Just because!!!! There's no real reason, except that the windshield curves in at the bottom left, and thus the last two inches don't touch. But note that the blade goes all the way up to the top at the middle, and thus 13" inches is the right length. Just drive it - you'll still love it.

You are right!! Over the years I have grown to love all the little idiosyncracies and special efforts that make old 911s' so interesting. They are special and sure do last a heck of a long time . My 83 runs nicely and always brings a smile to the face.

actually if you have ever seen an original SWF wiper blade on an early 911 they do fit better, wish I could fine a set of the black 13" ones, never have seen them for sale.
