PET database format?
Hey all
Does anyone know the format of the pet database? I was imagining some type of antiquated isam or c or b tree database. Thanks! |
Interesting question, but I don't know the answer.
you know pretty much all the same stuff is available in PDF now, right? may be easier to scrape that. |
I'd be real interested in knowing that too - and how can you "scrape" a pdf?
|
Thanks Andy
Yeah, I know about the PDF version. There are programs wherein you can programattically target regions, etc. and PDF's can be "ocr'ed" in the new releases of acrobat. I would think it would be great to just pull the data out and drop it in a desktop DB for better searches. |
Well I'll look into it, because I have both the newest full version of acrobat, and the pdf versions for all the parts. If i can extract the data in any meaningfull way I could format it into xml pretty easily - I don't know if they(stuttgart) would frown on that or not, but it sure would make indexing and searching real easy.
