PET database format?
Hey all
Does anyone know the format of the pet database? I was imagining some type of antiquated isam or c or b tree database. Thanks!

Interesting question, but I don't know the answer.
you know pretty much all the same stuff is available in PDF now, right? may be easier to scrape that.

I'd be real interested in knowing that too - and how can you "scrape" a pdf?

Thanks Andy
Yeah, I know about the PDF version. There are programs wherein you can programattically target regions, etc. and PDF's can be "ocr'ed" in the new releases of acrobat. I would think it would be great to just pull the data out and drop it in a desktop DB for better searches.

Well I'll look into it, because I have both the newest full version of acrobat, and the pdf versions for all the parts. If i can extract the data in any meaningfull way I could format it into xml pretty easily - I don't know if they(stuttgart) would frown on that or not, but it sure would make indexing and searching real easy.
