Installing AppBiz RS Carpet?

I am thinking about ordering one of these kits and was wondering how difficult they are to install. It says on the site to have professionals install it. Has anyone here done it themselves? Tips? Pics?

I did a prototype of theirs for a Carrera Targa, he'd not made one at that point and used my old carpets as a pattern. It went pretty well, I used brush on contact cement, as I didn't want to use the aerosol in my car. I'm happy with it, and I'm certainly not a pro.

Not the best pic...

I used the appbiz carpet and it wasn't too difficult. You really need to mark each old piece as you remove it. Some pieces will not be obvious as to where they go.

It takes a little skill but not that much. I did mine in 4 or 5 hours. Some of that time is waiting for the adhesive to set up.

I used the spray stuff. Spray it on the back of the carpet and the surface you are attaching to. Then like contact cement you have to wait for it to set up.

If you need them, I will see if I can dig up some pics.
Also do a search.

Several other members have done it.

If it is an RS carpet set, then there is a great 'Install Guide PDF' for the Appbiz carpet set here :-

http://www.rallystuff.com/images/rs_carpet_guide.pdf

Interesting site put together by a couple whilst converting their 911E.

May be of help / interest to some of you.

Hey thats awesome. I've needed something like that for a while. My car was stripped when I got it and I couldn't figure out how some of the pieces went in when I installed mine a while back.

As far as installing, its pretty straightforward and is easy enough with patience.

I have a complete AppBiz RS set in charcoal plush grey with the black binding if you are interested. I sold the car before I installed it. If you are interested ...e-mail me for the specifics. It's still in the box, wrapped in plastic.

Here's a couple of pics I snapped of mine today. Please keep in mind this is a construction project currently.
