Cleaning Brake Calipers

I'm in the middle of rebuilding the brake calipers on my 67S. Looking for suggestions on what to use to clean the caliper bodies. Don't really want to just spray brake cleaner and wipe. Looking for something I can soak the calipers in and finish up with brake cleaner. Would like to find something that doesn't have the potential of burning the garage down or shortening my life by using it.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I took them over to my buddie's garage and hit them in the blast cabinet. They came out great.

Are they aluminum? not sure but if there not, send them out to get re plated (cadmium) like factory, a nice goldish color. If aluminum, just have them media blasted. No need to paint or treat. Best of all, no chemicals to deal with, just write the check!

Ask Eric at PMB. He can also supply the rebuild kits including the caliper half seals.

I didn't know the caliper half seals were available. I have read here that some people suggest not seperating the halfs. Never really understood that. Is it really that big of a deal. Seems like a very basic procedure. Or, is there more to it than just bolting it back together.

Thanks for the replys,

It is as basic as removing 4 bolts. The problem always has been obtaining new seals. Now, PMB can supply them along with the new type bolts.
