68 911 clunk in front end ?
Everything has been gone thru and brand new with good quality parts as part of its rebuild.
Intially for 2000 miles quiet. Now I reverse out if my drive . Steer right to drive off and clunk. It's loud and harsh and does not seem to come thru the wheel. I'm now at times getting it on the road on a hard right turn at very low speeds. Not left turns and I can't replicate it while stationery in the garage. I've gone thru and tightened it all but to no avail. Any expert's want to hazard a guess. Lyndon |

Shock bushing? Or a dodgy lower ball joint?

Depends on the type of shock but some (e.g., Koni) have a bump stop or plastic bushing that can rattle or clunk if not installed correctly. More likely however, if it is on turning and not felt through the steering, is the lower ball joint. Was that replaced and are all the nuts tight? Also if the torsion bar has not been installed correctly, height adjusted, and the front control arm not indexed properly there could be a clunk.

New genuine ball joints.
All torsion bars and indexing done properly. Like I say it's a new thing and the front end is about 2000 miles old. Guess I'm going to pull it out and have a look. Only turning right it happens. ? Lyndon |

So nothing in the steering feel. Not a tie rod end bushing? Lug nuts tight? I like the roll pin thought. Was it tightened fully?

loose sway bar mount then?
as you say "everything is new" it's difficult to narrow down where an install mistake is, could be anything...

Lug nuts are torqued to 96 ft lbs.
Car had no sway bars. I will hoist it again next week for another look. Lyndon |

Double check the two M12 bolts at the rear of the skidplate. They run up through the torsion bar’s bushing carrier securing it to the car... if not installed really tight that clunk sound can happen.

Suspension pan rusted where front torsion bar connects? You did say its a 68 so it not unlikely.

Something with the control arms? Are there quality rubber bushings in there (there are one front and one at the rear of each control arm? Was the car height adjusted after they were fitted? Are torsion bar end caps fitted correctly and is the TB slotted fully into the front mount?

Zero rust. All best quality parts.
When I get it apart and or fixed will advise. Lyndon |
