rear wheel and body over hang?

If I have another porsches rear wheels on my car what would be the tell tale signs? My rear wheels sit in about two inches from the body a friend of mine says I have 951 rear wheels and that is why the offset is funny. Can some one tell me how close the rear 16 inch fuch's should be to the fenders? they are seven inche wide wheels at rear and six inch wide wheels at the front. How much of an over hang should there be. If they turn out to be 951 rear wheels what should I do? move them to the front and look for eights at the rear. Will this upset the handling of my car at the limit?

What's the number on the wheel?
that'll be the best way to tell what it is, and what offset it is...

the number on the wheel is inside the center area - dismount the wheel, clean it if you need to and you'll see a long Porsche type p/n

report back and people can figure out what you are dealing with thanks to Bill Verburg's data collection
