My 81 targa rides pretty high in the front (wheel well top = 26 3/4 both sides) and low-ish in the back (24 1/2).
I measured the height differences between the center of the torsion bar and the center of the front wheels (as per 101 Projects) and got ~120 mm on the left and right. Why isn't my car sitting a lot lower in the front? The right 11 mm adjustment bolt has double the threads showing (the half that touches the top of the crossmember) as the left, making me think the bars are not indexed correctly. I'm running with standard 205/55/16 tires in the front and I have the green struts, if that helps. (I'm a noob DIY'er. :-) Most of the posts about this sort of thing seem to indicate that my car should be sitting lower. The attached (gamma fixed) photo shows the wheel well differences. ![]()
