Plastic polishing/cleaning
Due to a rock chip, had to replace a headlight lens. After installing the new one, I saw how tatty the original looked. The 993 has a clear plastic baffle inside the fixture that had yellowed significantly. As an experiment, I unclipped and removed the baffle from the chipped lens assembly to test clean. I used a Dremel with a buffer pad and various polishing compounds down to a jewelers rouge. Results show in the attached picture of the clean one compared to the yellowed. Even though this project doesn't apply to pre 993 cars, I thought it would be good to archive the results for other plastic clean up projects.

Meguiars makes an excellent plastic cleaner and polish (2 products) which does a great job of removing scratches in things like plastic dash gauge and tail light lenses.
Also, the old German standby, Simichrome polish works wonders on plastic. |

I was told to polish plastic with toothpaste, also works as a anti-fogging agent on glass.

I use paint buffing and swirl products with great results on plastic light covers.

Mark, I've got great results with either Renovo plastic polish or P21S Multi Surface Restorer (or something like that).
