				What the heck?

The good news - my 90' 911 is back! It is running as smooth as silk. The bad news - something is now pulling the battery down. It sounds like a fan running or something, but it is pulling the battery down (only takes about 3-4 hours to be dead). One guy thinks it might be some sort of fuel pump relay gone bad. To him, it sounds like the fuel pump doesn't stop after a few seconds (like it is supposed to do). This is frustrating. I could sure use your expertise.

For starers - You really need to get out and open up the trunck and engine hood, listen closely, and tell us which en d of the car the sound is coming from ( I *think* you are insinuating its in front). You can remove the fuses for different circuits to see what stops it at least (that will tell you something anyway).

I have heard of someone whose battery kept being flattened by their footwell blowers staying on (as far as I remember). I think it was a stuck relay or some other electrical fault causing the fans to stay on, but in their case the fans we're moving so slowly they couldn't hear them, but they're battery would go dead over night. Maybe your fans are staying on at a faster speed or something. I think as Gary suggests, you will need to try and identify where the noise is coming from so as to diagnose it.

Sorry for the lack of details. It sounds like the noise is coming from the front, but I am not sure (especailly since the sound was also heard before the engine pull - I assumed it was the clock). Whatever it is, it must be pulling a lot of amps to run it down so quickly. Like I said, I might not be the noise up front. If not, that would mean that something was silently pulling down the battery????

The fresh air fan is up front. Just a suggestion, but can feel any air blowing up under the windscreen?

I haven't felt anything blowing in the car. Except for the sound of something running in the front dash, I can see or hear nothing. I heard the same sound before the clutch and tune-up, but it never ran my battery down. At times, the sound actually stops??? Too bad it isn't something simple.

Disconect the batt positive terminal. Place a test light in line with the battery terminal and the removed cable. Touch the battery cable to the battery post for about 5 seconds to reset the clock and radio presets then remove the cable with the test light still hooked up in line. The light will glow brightly if you have a draw. Start removing fuses one at a time until the light goes out. The fuse that turns the light off is your draw. Make sure all the doors are closed the keys are not in the car and any security systems are turned off. If you have a mechanical clock(with hands instead of numbers) you may want to disconect it before trying this, It will suport a false reading. since mechanical things draw a fair ampunt of amps. Good luck
