Replacing clutch?

Can anyone give me a ball park Price on replacing a clutch on a 1988, Carrera 3.2L..

clutch $650
clutch fork $90
cv bolts, trans side both sides $20-$25
oil change $75
misc bearings, pins and bushings $50
Flywheel balance...open
clutch r&r labor 1 hour
R&I engine 6-8 hours...depends on which book your wrench uses.

The "while you are in there" cost are the ones that throw a budget into the S@#$%*er.

This is also a good time to replace hoses and misc seals on top of the engine while they are exposed.

If the transmission is on its last leg, entertain the rebuild now...you can save the engine drop cost again.

My wife and I dropped the motor/trans ourselves. See the many other posts on this topic. to do this it will cost $500 in jacks, tools, jack stands if you don't have them or cannot borrow them from friends.

Are you mechanically inclined at all? This seems like an overwhelming task at first, dropping the motor and all, but it really isn't all that tough to do, especially with good moral support around, and you'll be a whole lot smarter about the workings in the rear of your car.

I went thru this earlier this year, and found the overall process fun and enjoyable. This isn't for everyone, certainly, but it is worth considering.

and that is just the beginning.
I can do a clutch, all by itself, for the cost of the kit and the oil change. But, that is really ignoring all the issues that you will find. And, you will find them. Trust us on that one.

The only thing I don't have much of is time right now.
I dropped a 66 bugs engine one time. (Easy and Fun)
I wanted to know about the clutch because I'm selling my Porsche and a potential buyer said they would buy it if I replaced the clutch...... I don't feel that there is anything wrong with the clutch but I thought I would look into it anyways. But, for about $2000.00, she's crazy......
