1969 911S Softwindow-value
Just curious what a 1969 911S softwindow would be valued at. The car is all original but in pretty bad shape. It has it's original motor (turns but does not run), original transmission, Title, etc.
The bad is that there is an extensive amount of rust all over the body. Floor pans, rocker-panels, fenders, etc....very rough. It has been stored inside and the interior looks to be complete and in used but not abused condition. On any other car I would say that it might be close if not already to the point of no return but..... This is a very rare car... I don't know what the production numbers are but on my 1969 911E it is 1 of 12 and more valuable than any other 911E. Now put it in an S level of car and the price goes even further. I realize that this would be a monumental undertaking that would probably take me many years to finish but the end result would be something special. Mike |

If you have deep pockets, plenty of time, and patience, I'd restored the car - Fully- and you will indeed own a rare gem.

value
There has been a 67S SWT on the market for a long time at 85,000 and know of one that was restored and sold for 55,000 and looked at one with 300,000 miles in concours shape for 35,000.Take your pick, but if I had the knowlege and time and money,I would do it.It`s a rare duck and SW "S"`s are very cool! I agree with the previous post!

There were very few LWB SWTs made. I would value this car pretty high. If the buy-in price was low enough given its condition it would be a no-brainer. Just be cautious that you will sink a ton of money into it to make it look good again.
If you pass, I would love the contact information.

I realize without seeing the car either in person or with pictures....but what would be a fair price to pay for something that has a lot of potential but is a long way from there. Is this worth 1500 dollars or is it worth 5000 dollars. I know that the parts for a 911S can bring in a small fortune! Don't worry I'm not even thinking of parting it out if I do buy it! Just looking for some insight! Mike

The parts alone are worth $5000 - I'd probably give 5000 to 7000 site unseen - as long as you had a good idea of exactly what you are getting, and that most of the expensive hardware is still on the car. For example, the 2 chrome handles on the soft window are commanding $1000 per pair theses days.

Here are links to 2 previous threads that may help. I'm interested in buying this car also if you decided not to.

911S aside. SWT aside, I would probably say a really rusty car is not worth more than about $5k. beyond that you quickly get to the point of no return when it comes time to lay out cash for repairs. Rust is not cheap nor easy to fix, even if you can do it yourself.

If you think you can fix it, I would totally think it would be worth it.
