I'm Lighter and Car is Faster

After deciding to have my transmission replaced w/ a rebuild (following confirmation of impending ring and pinion failure), clutch, bearing, flywheel and pressure plate replaced (while we were in there), halfshafts replaced, rear shocks replaced, Permatune CDI replaced w/ new MSD/blaster and wires, air, oil and fuel filters replaced, plugs replaced, old Dilivar studs replaced (following finding one broken one during valve adjustment), chain tensioner oil leak fixed, and confirmation of proper functioning of all start/run CIS components, I find I'm considerably lighter... especially in the wallet area!

Fortunately, the car now starts and runs better than anytime in recent memory.

Ongoing DIY house renovation and having to turn over the garage to the Sig Other's car for winter meant not being able to do the work myself.

Next spring. it'll be tires, wheels, brakes and spring plate bushings...all the things I was going to do THIS year.

(Sigh)

Paul,
It sounds like you have made some significant improvements.
Please don't tell me that your P Car has to spend the winter outside!!

Bill,
The car definitely sounds and runs great. Although pricy, it was money well spent. And no, I have a storage spot for it. It's just not at the house. My 18' wide downtown lot precludes a 2 car garage.

Paul,
I lived in Toronto (Scarborough, at the time) some years ago. You are fortunate to live in downtown Toronto, a truly great city.

On a recent visit, Movenpick became my new favorite dining experience!

To get back to P cars, I saw my first 911 there, at the NA unveiling some time in 1965, as I recall.

Glad to hear that it's back on the road - well - storage. Sorry to hear that the wallet was significantly vacuumed, but at least you know it's all done.

Ian
