That looks really great Phil, Nide job!
I have a couple of questions, 1) What cleaning product can be used on the engine etc? 2) Where is the air cleaner setup you have available? I still have the stock setup but really like the K&N look. 3) The major plastic that is missing in the after shot. Was that heater related? Last edited by ThePointman; 12-04-2005 at 04:17 PM.. |

I'll have too look for the link that I had found on engine detailing and clean up....but to paraphrase it had said to run the engine for just a few minutes then shut it off and spray "liberally" w/engine degreaser ( such that you would buy @ pep boys and Autozone) and let it sit for 15 minutes then wash off w/a low pressure garden hose and spray ...again"liberally" everything down w/WD-40... I noticed a huge difference...BTW

and yes to # 3 all the missing plastic parts are heater related...I have SSI's and have deleted my engine blower...and survive w/ my footwell blowers.

KCPSG,
How hard is it to take off the fans assemply? I took off the smaller part to adjust the belt already but never pull off the fan and it's assembly. Could you tell me is it involve with many other parts? Thanks.

The fan, alternator and the fan shroud all come out together, then you need to separate them(which I thought would be a PITA) but do a search on here, they actually come apart rather easily.
