back seat options

My 73 is undergoing bodyshop work right now and i am trying to decide what to do about the rust in the right side back seat bottom. my body shop guy can patch in a fabricated panel or can cut the whole back seat bottom sheet metal out and put in a removeable access panel. my car will be a street/track car and the access to the trans and rear suspension would be nice. i do have a matter style roll bar that bolts to the back seat pivots and i would need to change that to a style that welds to the wheel arches. the rear seat pivots would be under the removeable panel. any opinions and ideas are welcome. i don't think the labor cost is much different between the two options (except for the roll bar problem). does anyone with this mod think it is worth it or just a nice idea that never gets used.

i don't think there's much added practicality to a indoor hatch for maintenance, there just isn't a lot you can do to a tranny while it's still in there other than an easier way to change the tranny oil, which ain't the weekly chore either...

suspension wise, dunno , but most of it is still in the wheel wells, so i would think that's where adjustments are to be made...

i'm sure it can be done, but i fail to see big advantages when it comes to working on the car...

i thougt about the camber boxes but they are expensive, i'm not sure they offer that much of a handling improvement than the stock location. i am running 935 spring plates(with the 2 mounting holes) and coil-overs however. i have a couple questions about the photo Bill, is the "x" tubing brace needed when the seat bottoms are cut out? what is the black tube running across the frame rails? doesn't that interfere with the transmission? if any ony knows of a source for a more affordable camber box setup than the smart racing parts let me know.
