Carrera Cup Air Box
Hey guys, quick question for ya...
What are your thoughts on the Carrera Cup Air Box? It seems like a simple mod with some benefit. I have a 90 C2 and understand it doesn't have a MAF so thats not a concern. Is the sound that significant?

Doesn't it use a hot wire (or film) MAF?

I opened up the airbox on my 87 to kind of replicate the Carrera Cup airbox and it is a bit louder, but doesn't seem to add any power. IMO, not worth the effort or expense.

You'll get a little nore noise but not much else. It does cause intake temps to rise a tad, because more heated air from the forward end of the bay is inhaled.
Doesn't really do any harm though

Bill:
Have you actually measured ( or sensed, via the gauges) this hotter running?? I would think that the huge amount of replenishment air volume would negate such affects... ...b ut then again we have Tbitz' thread and findings !!! Wil

The Cup modification on the 964 makes for much more noise and umph than the 3.2. - at least it did with me.
