starting problem

Howdy, I have a 1978 sc which is at present at the bodyworks
and they have rang to say that when they try to start the car it will turn over and fire immediately but will then die immediately, you can crank it all you want and it will not fire until you release the key and try again with the same results any ideas, as I want to pick the car up asap as it is ready to come home. I have not had this problem previously and drove the car out to the shop myself.

Simplest check is to jumper 12 VCD continous to the fuel pump fuse. At the back of the front trunk fuse panel, there should be a large red wire that is always 12VDC. The jumper will allow the FP to run continous. Once home, then repair.

FP red relay has a start and run cycle. The pic is for an SC.
