Are these A or S calipers??
I need to buy brake pads, but I am not sure which one to get since it seems to be two different calipers for my model car. "76 911 S
Thanks

Wouldn't the A and S take the same pad? I thought they were effectively the same caliper, only one in aluminum (S) and one in steel (A)?

thanks for the answers. I am not sure if the brake pads are the same. PP seems to have different pads for them.

The S pads won't work in the A cals unless they are dressed down, and then they won't last as long. The difference in thickness can be overlooked if you aren't expecting it. So, if you have the wrong pads, you might still get some use out of them under the right circumstances. S calipers have a hard line that goes around the caliper body and 2 bleeder screws. I've got some A cals around here somewhere, but I haven't looked them over closely in a long time. I don't think they have the line or the 2nd screw, but I could be mistaken. |
