101 Project Car Update - short shift kit
Hi,
Quick update on the 101 project car. My original thread on the trip from Houston after the purchase is here: Road Trip 1st Day - no heat!!! I've done a few things since returning home: Replaced the seat belts with a used set that James had with the car. They are in much better shape than the originals, the drivers side had frayed badly. That was a pretty quick project. I installed a factory short shift kit today. The shifting was quite sloppy and this was a great improvement. I purchased the Siene gate kit at the same time but decided to get the FSS installed and working first, I'll install the Siene system probably next weekend. The FSS shortened the throws nicely, shift effort is just right, everything is a lot tighter I think from all the new parts including a new ball cup bushing. Anyway, a very worthy project. I saved the tech writeups from this site to my laptop and had that in the garage with me, nicely done on the articles. They were a great help!!!! It's now the 103 project car??? Future Plans: Brake caliper rebuild/paint, new pads, rotors, soft lines. Bump steer kit New shocks SSI's This site is great, the people are awesome, thanks for the help and support past and present. Cheers,
