bleeding my clutch
Quick and dirty...I've bled brakes with a bleeder, it's cake. How is this going to measure up, and where do i start looking for the tit?
Thanks in advance...(haven't even looked under there yet) (obviously, it's the 91c2)

I've also wondered this, I have looked under the car and it looks like it will be trickey to access.
Any tips out there would sure be appreciated.(locating tit and bleeding) T-RONE __________ 87 CARRERA COUPE |

Its a bit tough to get to as the slave is on top of the transmission. Lot of work by feel. Suggest a pressure bleeder and use a shortened wrench on the fitting. Sorry, don't remember size. Bled my '88 this summer. Good luck. Ken

Access is difficult but doable. Jack the car pretty high and remove driver side wheel. You should be able to sit at the wheel well and reach to the top of the tranny to the bleed valve. There should be room to place a stubby wrench over the bleed nut and then hold your drain tube against the bleeder while you turn the nut. Use the closed end of the wrench so it stays in place. I made a mess.

The slave is on top of the tranny - jack the back end WAY up and put it on stands and have a light under there. Bleed screw points toward the front, takes a 7mm box end. Slip the wrench on first, then the bleed hose over that. Use a pressure bleeder, but be aware of where the hose to the clutch master exits the reservoir, and don't let the fluid fall below that point. They can be a bit of a b!tch to bleed - you might have to go through it 3 or 4 times.

I did mine shortly after purchase about a year ago (87 cab). As the others have said, it is up above the tranny.
Once you get a feel for where it is, take your time with the wrench and tube. It helps to warm up the tube for an easier fit. Motive pressure bleeder is highly recommended. Remember to clamp off the reservoir overflow line, or you will have a mess at the front of the car. Use a different color fluid if you can, it makes it easy to tell when you have purged the old fluid. Have fun

Suggest also that you work the clutch pedal whilst bleeding - helps if you have a partner to help!
