Fan blade Restoration

So I have an 88 that has a fan that looks like it was used as a boat prop at some point. No rock chips or anything but it's oxidized and ugly as sin.

It's part of my project list to get this looking better. I'd like to have it pained or powder coated black, like the car.

*Recommendations on removal (do's and don'ts)
*shops in socal you might recommend
*Paint or PC?

Thanks in advance!

There is a guy here in San Diego that does the restoration -

Alternator fan and housing restoration

I haven't used him, but his results look good.

Cerakote is the preferred finish, powdercoat can have issues over the magnesium.

What ever you do, don't make it RED

Previous owner had the top end done in 2007, the fan and the valve covers were powder coated the same red color. I like the red and the powder coating still looks great.

+1 for Flying Jay

Had my fan (88' 911) resto'd by Flying Jay a year ago. Better than new! Turnaround time was faster than my other order for a new housing (was cracked and decided to replace rather than resto)

See before and after:

Just cleaned it up. Paint makes it look cheap in my opinion.

In house plating & Cerakote, generally less than 7 day turn-around.

Before:

After:

This one has the Supertec fan center.
