I bought my 77 targa stock and spend over $20k modifying it. When I sold it I sold it with the OEM parts, and lost most of that money - the new owner spent money returning the car back to stock. So it does seem that there are a lot more buyers wanting to buy stock cars.

How did you find a sunroof-less coupe?? I thought all the US cars came with them. j.p. |
Some good general advice here, but it sounds like the car sold a couple of days ago?????

Wonder if he's bought that Boxster he wanted to trade for yet...

j.p.: Non-sunroof Carreras were available as special order cars in the US. I am personally aware of at least four non-SR US Carreras that have come on the market in the past three years, not including US-spec Carrera Club Sports, of which 37 were sold (and at least 5 or 6 are on the market most of the time). I found mine through this guy: www.europeanlocators.com.

Update. I do have someone that is buying the car...and appreciates all of the upgrades as well. He sounds like a great guy that will take good care of her. He mailed me a check, I need to deposit it, and he flys in this Saturday to drive home. Feels like letting go of an old friend.

Good for you Ken! That's a nice way to start the new year off :) I can feel for ya in regards to letting go....

If I new that back in '84, I would've opted for that option. Damn!! It's so much easier to wax the roof without those damn felt seals. At this point, I don't open the SR fearing the cable ends will snap causing havoc to the roof's finish. It's an option I only enjoyed briefly for the first few years of ownership. Nice find! j.p. |
Ken,
I think mb911 hit in on the head. Tiz not the Season. You got a lot of good comments and advise posted here. Hang in there till the spring, then take it out for a drive.... hmmm think you will want to sell it then? |
You also overlooked the word "MODS". Some people relate that to the "CHEVY" way of thinking.....Which could mean almost anything.
The term "upgrades" would be a better term. Those were some nice upgrades! |
