Spec clutch for modified 915 trans
Just spent two days breaking in , testing and getting used to the Spec stage 3+ clutch package I installed in my 911. This is as close as I would ever want to come to a race clutch driven on the street. There is really not much in the way of slipping the clutch on standing start takeoffs and holding a hill is very tricky more like moving from stop to slow forward and vice a versa. It pretty much is a go no go situation but I am told it will get a little more street friendly as time goes on. It does feel like it will hold 600 HP though so I guess you take the good with the bad. Has anybody any experience with this company?
Best regards,

Is that the solid disk kit? Or does it have a spring center? We ere going to use a SPEC clutch package for a friend's car, but it wouldn't work with what we were working with. Yet I am curious to know more about it.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stage 3+ Features a streetable high clamp pressure plate and full face carbon semi-metallic disc. Listed as an upgrade to the stage 3, it offers torque capacities more comparable to the stage 5 but with drivability equal to, and in some cases better than, the stage 3. The high capacity and excellent drivability characteristics of this clutch is a result of years of research and development for this SPEC exclusive disc compound. Best regards,

Cool. Here is what I got from the link for the Stage 3:
Types of Driving: Street, Drag, Drift, Road Race, Rallye, Pulling, Autocross For heavily modified street and race engines. Offers sufficient daily drivability with a comfortable pedal feel and quick engagement. Offers good wear characteristics under low and high stress usage. High clamp pressure plate, 4 or 6 puck carbon semi-metallic friction with high torque sprung hub and disc assembly, bearing and tool kit. 6 puck is standard on most applications So now I have to ask you what engine you are running? EDIT: Nevermind, I see in your sig you have a supercharge 3.2. How much power? EDIT2: I should say that SPEC was very easy to work with. We went through some iterations/corrections with them, and they were friendly and responsive when I stayed on top of them. Like most shops, they can get busy and caught up on other work, but they were pretty good to me. Last edited by MotoSook; 12-29-2005 at 12:46 PM.. |

Right now at 9 lbs boost > 400 RWHP, at 13 lbs boost should be about 526 RWHP. I want to get to 600 RWHP or more.
Best regards,
