Whats the Next Step for Suspension
It's winter time and that means time to tweak. I'm looking for the next logical suspension upgrade.
The car: 1981 SC w/ 3.6 - Weight 2688 4-5 DEs per year very little street Suspension 22/28 Torsion Bars Corner Balanced New Bilstien HDs up front New Bilstien Sports in Rear 22mm Front Sway ( solid non adjustable) 20 mm Rear Sway (Ditto) New Bushings all around The car is slowly becoming a track car with about 10% of time on the street. I trailer it to events. My thinking is that I will over time need to go to Monoball front and rear Bigger sways - Adjustable -23mm Front and rear Bigger Torsion 23-31 The question is what first. I can only afford one of the above this winter having just purchased a trailer and planning additional Brake work. My thought is the sway bars. Any Input? Jeff

Smart Racing sway bars. Your torsion bars are pretty close and when you change them the next time you'll want to get shocks to match the bars.

How does the car feel now as far as understeer, oversteer, or neutral handling? I have adjustable sways, and I find them key in dialing in the amount of neutral/oversteer I personally prefer. Smart Racing makes great sways, but they certainly aren't giving them away. I will eventually replace my Weltmeisters with them as budget and interest allows.

Tarrett sways seem to offer what Smart has but saves $350 or so...... I have not heard a good arguement for the Smart bars over Tarrett yet. I also need to do this vs. my 22/21 Carrera bars.
I'm running 23/29 torsions and weigh about the same....I agree that the 23/31's would be a nice addition for you. After you are done, you may want to consider sending your Bilsteins in to have them re-valved to the spec of the car...sways/torsions/car weight etc.

The SRP bars are a tad lighter. The curved parts are nice. They were first with a real high quality bar. Other reasons... Hmmm, let's see....

the SRP bars allow you to "grow"
If you want to upgrade to a bigger bar later on, you can get just that the arms/droplinks will mount to the bigger bar that said, the tarett bars are very nice too
