Another brake option question???

What would be the best scenario for my '75 as my stuff is junk: Find used "M" calipers and 19mm master cyl? VCI's setup for 930 calipers and put on my 3.0" struts? Or upgrade to 3.5" struts and use what? This is just a street car but I really would like to have a solid feel under braking. I like the feel of brembos on everything I've ever built. Ideas? Price wise I would like to stay in the $1000-2000 range. Thanx, Duke

The only "upgrade" for 3" struts is the BMW 320 caliper and that isn't much of an upgrade.

If you are serious, start w/ a set of 3.5" struts.

Your stock M/M brakes, if nominal, should give you the same solid feel as A/M or any of the other early brake combos.

For <$2000&#177 you should be able to pick up a new set of 3.5" Bilstein struts and Carrera front rotors, calipers, pads for a true upgrade. m/c need not(should not) be changed for this setup.

Thanx Bill, I'm pretty sure this is the route I'm going to go. Im also checking out the feasability of using some brembos from work. Just got to figure out the offsets and rotors and adapters.

It is always possible that Wevo will introduce their brake kit, and that there will be a version for your struts.... possible, OK? You could ask Hayden if there will be a version for you.

I like the Carrera struts on my '73. If you get the Al center piece at the same time, you get a tad lower wt. and add'l stiffness there.
