993 center console
did a search and wanted to revisit this thread
(993 console) about adding a 993 center console from betterbodies here in san diego has any one added one of these lately? problems with fitment? problems with shifting? is the original shifter retained or do you upgrade that as well? my wife really likes this and has given the green light for purchase and install. i like the upgraded look of the interior. kyle

is this all you`re doing to upgrade the interior? A stock 83 with a 993 center console? lt looks like you`re rebuilding/upgrading your car and you have some decisions to make.Think. l`ve got a bastardized 84 3.2 with lots of 993 parts on it,carbon fiber, ricey stuff, turbo, etc. l started this with a "big picture" though and the car is almost where l envisioned it to be when l started.lf your`re planning to upgrade your car consider where you`re going to stop and what it`ll take to get there. l think the $500.00 for a 993 console would be a purchase l`d schedule after l`d done big brakes, track suspension, engine mods and other balanced upgrades. l know it`s tough to fight off the urge to buy something cool for your car but think about the long term. The 993 console in a stock 83 would look totally out of place (IMHO)unless you go all the way with other upgrades.l`ve learned this the hard way unfortunately with many cars in my past.for pics of my riced out bastard do a search fo "silver bullet picture thread" on pelican. good luck with it though, whatever you do......post pics if you buy the thing,l wanted one myself a while back

Gee. Almost looks like a Lexus. If that's what works for you go for it.

the interior may get matching 993 door handles but yes this would be the only upgraded addition. (a new sc dash was added when glass was out for paint) new door panels and rear deck panels will be added and new carpeting with sound proofing. the exterior doesnt resemble a stock sc. it has the yellow bird kit front and rear, aero mirrors and dual out exhaust. after interior is completed wheels will be updated from fuchs. the direction im taking this car is not quite lexus comfort but not bare bones race car. its not a family car, but i do want to keep the possibility of open to putting my son in the back seat when needed. thanks for the inputs, i will continue to post pics as progress occurs. kyle
