I chimed in... who knows, maybe this modest outcry will make them think again?

Discovery told a member at Miata.net filed a complaint w/ Discovery. Disc said that its' between season for the USA versioj and it will be back on in December. They're between seasons on the USA version. They promised.

They have to assemble new shows for the american audience. It's had good ratings and will definately return in a month and a half.

I agree, its the BEST automotive show in the memory of MOI! Outstanding editing (The Toyota pickup that was wrecked, set on fire, sunk under water and placed with a crane on the top of a 23? story building that they imploded with dynamite. It collapsed straight into the gound with the Toyota flying down 23 floors among 21 ton chunks of concret. BOOM! Danm Toyota started right up and drove away.) Then they drive diablos and ferraris, and elises and Porsche GT's and Ariel Atoms and Aston Martins and Jags and ford GT40's. In the dry, inthe snow, in pouring rain. And cheap car (Porsche) contests.
And the presentaion and fabulous photography is just incredible; amazing. Every week it is. It's a great show. Even non car people enjoy it, sort of like the car guys fom boston on steroids.

I love it. I've taped a couple (conflicted w/ LOST). Comeon December.

The UK original episodes are better. I really wish they hadn't cut the new, interviews, and "star in a reasonably priced car."

Still it's better than any other car show on tv...

I'm sending my support into Discover also. I agree the original version is even more entertaining, but if they have to soften it for US viewers its still better than nothing.

Let's all write to encourage the interviews here, too. This may be a shot in the dark because they do those in time we have for commercials; and commercials a'int going away here. For shure.

Lets try though, Jack Olsens got the address above.

My roommate works for the Discovery networks in advertising. I'll clue her in on the growing civil
unrest.

I have been wondering for a while just where the channel is going. I just politely told them!

FYI the new series of 5th Gear has started over here and is presented by 2 X-Top Gear presenters, Tiff needell and Vicky Butler-Henderson(the fit one).

First episode was good with a few cheeky digs at the Top Gear gang - well funny

Good news

from the Discovery Channel:

Thank you for contacting Discovery Channel. We appreciate you taking the
time to share your thoughts and concerns with us regarding β€œTop Gear.”
Your comments will be forwarded to our program management and executives
and will be taken into consideration.

The "Top Gear" show was not "taken off the air" but rather ran its pattern.
It is being revamped for a U.S. audience and will return later this year.
Look for it in December.

Not that I know how to do it, I have friends who dont have cable, they download any show they want off the net. If you want the show and want it uneditted, do that ! If I knew how I would describe it, heck maybe Iwill have someone show me and post the instructions.

Well, this season of Top Gear is already on the net. I saw most of these shows that were on Discovery for the last few months, on the net last year. It was on some Fish Babble site I think.
