Bilstein/Boge problem
Maybe this should go in the "stupidity" thread... Not knowing what I was looking for, I assumed my car had Boges because they looked black. Well, after ordering Bilstein shocks for Boge struts I get in there today, and wipe the black road grime off to reveal Green Bilstein shocks, with green Bilstein struts, complete with roll pin ($#%^ing piece of #$@%ing s**t bastard...). So here I am with Bilstein shocks for Boge struts, yet I've got Bilstein struts. Is there anything I can do with these shocks, or am I screwed? I haven't yet got the roll pin out (gave up for tonight) so I haven't been able to pull out the insert to see if they're interchangeable. I'll keep whacking away at the roll pin in the morning... (so far I've broken 2 screwdrivers, a punch, several dremel blades and grinders and almost my thumb trying to get that bastard out).
Thanks, Chris

You're screwed. They are completely different. About the only similarity is that they are round and perform the same function, you'd have as much luck getting the shocks from my miata to work.

They're sports - pretty sure the part # is P36-0113-M12, but I'll check the box in the morning.
Jon, looks like they'll be up for sale, but depending on price I'll probably sell them locally - I paid around $400 in shipping and taxes to get them into Canada, because it's still cheaper than buying locally. I'll want to recoup at least some of that, which will still be a deal for someone north of the border, but if you're in the US it'd be cheaper (and probably faster) to get them straight from Pelican. Thanks for the help guys - I really appreciate the quick answers! Some vacation week this is turning out to be... Chris
