best/safest way to run a 12v wire to the engine compartment.

to be more specific, running a 10ga 12v power source from the starter to my MSD unit mounted where the stock CDI unit hangs. it doesnt feel smart or safe to run it between the engine tin, and body. will it rub through? any secret holes i need to use?

cliff.

thanks.

I just ran mine along the firewall, tie wrapping it to existing wire bundles where paths merged. Same thing below the pan; tie to existing bundles.

There is a 12 volt lug in the engine compartment that is connected to the battery 12v source. Already has several wires attached to it. It is behind the drivers side taillight on wall. That is where I hooked up 12v for my MSD. Simple hook up. Hope this helps.

you need a lot of current capacity for that wire. I ran it thru the tin - rubber gormmet in the hole. No hole? Drill one.

If you search on Ron + terms you'll find his comments on this.

I ran mine between the firewall, heavy gauge wire with tie wraps. Be careful with the terminal on the starter, mine snapped when loosening. Ended up putting in a new high torque starter.
