Steering on my 69S vs my 81SC.
I have always been curious why the steering on my 1969 911S feel so much better than that on my 1981 911SC. Did Porsche change the design somehow? Or does the steering rack need to be replaced on the SC?

I would say weight, tire size and tire quality. I have a euro 81SC coupe and my dad has an 88 targa. Both have recently been aligned. Whenever I get into my car from driving his, it feels like my 81 has power steering. The "power steering" effect of my car decreased by a little bit when I replaced my crappy tires with higher quality summer tires. It is still much easier to steer and more direct than his HEAVY 88 targa though.
