exhaust header question

Sorry for being a newbie to P-cars and asking what will undobtedly by a stupid question to most of you folks here but, i'm wanting to know what this part is.

In the picture of the header, there is an extra pipe coming off where the turbo bolts on, running forward and ending with a 4-bolt flange. What is this extra pipe for?
(yes, i'm an idiot).
