911 R tail lights..need photo

Can anyone post a photo of 911 R tail lights with just the lights on..i.e. parking or headlights. I have a wiring demon I need to diagnose and not sure which side it's in.

911 R Lights...better still

Better still...here's a photo of mine. I have turn signal demon on the left so likely the right side is correct but it seems very little light for a tail/running light. All worked fine when I first put them in last summer but now I can't remember (CRS disease ;-) ) what it looked like at the time.

Tried to edit my previous post but BBS wouldn't let me for some reason. Sorry for the duplication.

Dutchie,
Thanks for the reply...just look at my pic and lemme know if the right side looks correct to you.

My left front turn signal is buggy so likely the whole left side has a bad ground or some other short. I hate tryin' to find these wiring bugs but guess I must dive into it. When I installed these lights I tried to really do it right with shrink wrap over the connectors and weathr proof shield over it all. Hate to tear that apart. Could it be a bad ground somewhere else ?

Mark i use a diffrent configuration, mine are same like Minkoff,s awesome looking 911r clone. I use the red for brakes only and the yellow amber ones for signal and running lights. I had the same issue you had when i installed mine ! it was an earth problem. I ran two wires from the chassis as earth connected to the steel backplate of the amber/red light and all was fine. Hope this helps and sorry for my bad spelling

Dutchie,
No problem on spelling, etc. After all, English is not your native language.

Thanks for your explanation. After I posted my pic I did a search for 911 R lights and found an old post by Jack Olsen. He stated that the red is supposed to be brake/tail, amber turn, and clear, of course, backup. That actually makes more sense...so I'll have to tear out both of them and check all that. I will check the ground (earth) at the same time.

I'm also having a problem with my R taillights. I notice when I push on the brake pedal with the turn signal on I get a dim lite in the dash and both sides flash dim at the arrows in the gauge. When I drive and turn the turn signal on they work perfect until I push on the brake pedal. Brake pedal and light work perfect.

Any thoughts?

Six B...

That's exactly what I get when I use just my left turn signal. Brake pedal does not affect mine but headlights do. I think we both have bad ground someplace. When I assembled mine I coated the entire back plate of each SS fixture with silicone caulk to try to protect it from spashing water and road dirt. I doubt that would be a cause but not totally sure.

My taillights seem to work. I'm never behind the car so I dont know what the rear lights are doing. I have a third brake light and it works well and can be seen from the inside while driving so I know it works. I'll have my brother check it out with me over the weekend and let you know what I find.

-- I am still dizzy with cognitive dissonance for that pic of the light R type tail lights on a car with the ultra heavy giant rear bumpers...

Randy,
Good turn of phrase...;-)..."...cognitive dissonance..." love it. What arrogance.

I suggest then, for you own sanity (if my car is so displeasing to your sensibilities) and preservation of clear thought processes, you divert your eyes.
