Question re: 3.0 rear main seal color

I have thoroughly researched the matter of which rear main seal to use, and it seems I should avoid a RMS that is black in color.....

To play it safe, I purchased an OEM seal (it's got Porsche written on it) for my 83SC, and guess what color it is?

That's right........black.

Should I use it?

Thx

Nope, use the brown and green seal available from our host.

SoCal911SC, please confirm if the black seals you used were in fact "Porsche" OEM.

I just spoke with a well reputed shop here in Vancouver (Weissach) and I was assured that there would be no issues. Apparently there was a period some time ago where a bunch of cheap Indian knock-offs were being circulated...

I would order from our host, but I can't wait for 2 weeks to get it.
