I just started having problems shifting my car. It is difficult to impossible to select any gear. I was driving home when this began.
A search gave me the throw out bearing being the culprit. Any help here would be welcome. It is a 3.2 915 with about 85k. I have no idea how old the clutch is. I bought the car with about 64k on it. I am hoping for clutch/tb instead of tranny. ![]()

Update... I tried shifting thru the gears with the engine off.
It went into most gears easily but 3rd seemed to not want to go until shifting thru the other gears a few times. So I am thinking shift fork? What do you guys think? I figure the next step is to drain the tranny and remove the bottom plate.

Jerry before jumping to conclusions on expensive parts what kind of shape are the shift bushings in? When were they last replaced? I would start there first. After all that is in good shape then look at clutch cable adjustment. If after that it still shifts like crap then you can dig deeper.

Did the shifter bushings etc. last year. This is definitely bigger problem. I will start with the simpler/cheaper things first.
I just want to get as much info as possible. Thanks for your help.

Could a "loose" / stray shift coupler amount to those symptoms?
Wait, who am I kidding trying to hand out suggestions in this crowd?!! ![]()

I had a shifting problem couple months ago, thought the clutch was going or the slave cyl. leaking. I limped the car home and started loooking and what I found was this.......... on the pedal cluster there is a roll pin that holds the clutch pedal on the shaft, the pin had broken and made it seem like the clutch was going.
Cost $1.10 to fix and about 1 hour. Just sometheing else to check....hope this helps. KC
