78 distributor vacuum source

Hi, Have a euro 78 motor installed in my 77. The motor came with the distributor vacuum plugged. The mechanic who installed the motor said there wasn't a vacuum source on the throttle body to hook it up. I also can't seem to find any open source on the throttle body also. All the diagrams I see show that it should hook to the throttle body. Does anyone know where this line should hook up to. Thanks Jerry

On my 77 euro engine the vacuum tap for the dizzy was in on the engine fan side of the trottle body. The port pointed out towards the drivers side of the car. I would guess it is in the 1/8" to 1/16" OD range. There is also a vacuum tap on the firewall side of the throttle body for the decel valve. If you use it, I think the one on the engine fan side of the trottle body since it taps in just under the butterfly and looses vacuum when you get off of idle.

If you have any pictures, that may help.

John, Thanks for the reply. I have to go this weekend and check the front of the TB. The back side of the TB does hook to the dc valve. Is your motor a 3L or a 2.7L. Should the tap be below the flap of the TB or above it? Don't have any pictures right now but may take some this weekend, Thanks Jerry
