As long as you keep it German, you should be OK Bullet!
Find a used 928, or Cayenne motor to put in that car, and the diehard's here should be ok!.

PatrickB,
Vielen Dank für den Rat. Ich versuche, ihn zu halten Deutscher, aber er kostet viel mehr als die amerikanische Version. Sie wissen, würde mein Großvater mich loswerden das Auto schätzen. Er haßt alle deutschen Sachen (WWII Veteran) How was that for keeping it German?

PatrickB,
I forgot..errr, I mean...Ich vergessen...arghh!!!...I forgot to ask you if it's easier to mate a V8 from a 928 to my 911, comparatively speaking, than a Chevy. Do you know other miscreants, or infidels, like myself that have tried to do something as egregious as putting an American heart into a German body?

Bullet~ Yes I have seen it done! Renegade is the place if you're seriously interested. I met the owners, and toured their shop last month in Vegas. These guys do a very clean conversion, and really know what they are doing! I was kidding about putting a 928 motor in. I get a big laugh from how the purest on this site that get so pissed off though, about altering a Porsche by putting a different motor in (SBC V8)... Yet they have no problem altering an early 911 by putting in a 3.2 or 3.6 motor in place of the 2.2/2.4 motor... After you ride in a 914 with a 500 hp SBC motor and pass up a 3.2 Carrera like it's a Yugo, you too might become a believer and lose the Uber Attitude...

indeed.
instead of an american heart, I went japanese in a 912. Subarus are flat motors too. without all the accessories, they resemble 616's and type IV's quite a bit. as I tell people what I did..."I'm just reuniting the orginal axis of evil...this time for awesome." sjd
