Boosted brake conversion questions

I have accuired a 1988 Carrera master cylinder, vacuum assist canister and cast aluminum pedal pivot housing. I plan to install this lash-up on my 1976 911 and need some input. It will activate presently installed 944 Turbo calipers. New booster purchase came with 20mm master cylinder but I wonder if there is any reason I cannot utilize my presently used 23mm unit. Need to find a diagram of how the brake pedal connects to the assembly - seems like there must be a pivot arm or compression rod to activate master cylinder. Also need to know if I can use original 1976 pedal cluster. Sincerely appreciate any help. EP Slick - Indianapolishttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1138111548.jpg

I'd like to know what is involved also in putting a power assist brake set up in an older (e.g. 1973) car

there is a reinforcement piece that welds in vertically in front of the pedals. it has a bulge in it to clear the power pedal assembly and add rigidity. best to cut the section out of a donor car, trim it down and weld the whole top and front section in as a unit.

As John points out, there's more to it than just the MC. In my 1972 tub, we had to get a sheet metal section from a boosted car and weld it in. We also had to run a vacuum line from the rear.

(Disclaimer: When I say 'we,' I mean TRE. ;) )

Master cylinder advice

Thanks lots for the great advice. Looks like a pretty straightforward deal. I want to fabricate a bladdered aluminum fuel cell anyhow so have the opportunity to move some of the components around. Appreciate the responses. EP Slickhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1138139307.jpg
