Wheel spacer woes
I tested my new turbo wheels off of a 2001 on my 1970 911t today, knew i was going to need some spacers but i have a question or two. on the front 17" rim 205 tire. when i put it on the back side of the tire hits the suspension. it looks to me that there is a 2" spacer on there now, i would assume from the factory as the previous wheels were oem. should i take the 2" off and put a 2.5", i need .5" to get the clearance im looking for. or can i just add a .5" spacer to the existing 2" . as far as the back goes, i have carrera flares and with the wider 255's on the back i only need a 1" spacer this shouldnt be a problem, my major concern is in the front.

2.5" of spacing on the front seems excessive.
Is it a spacer or an adapter? If you have a 2" spacer (with oversized studs) you will have to add longer studs to accommodate the 2.5" spacers. If you have 2" adapters (with 10 lugnuts per wheel) you simply take them off and replace with 2.5" adapters. Before you do any of the above take measurements everywhere that the wheel/tire can touch when moving and steering.

i mounted the wheels as is, then adjusted them out and moved them in a steering motion to make sure i have clearance all around. i need to move it out .5" from where it is, i will look into the 2.5 adapter.
