On curved areas I never use a flat sander like that pictured on the writeup. I have several methods. For example on a quarter panel where the panel is curved in, I use a round backing such as a paint roller with the hard foam mesh. Or I have a block sander that is half rounded that I purchased from snap-on tools. But if you do not have a rounded block sander, than use that paint roller. Do not use a straight back and forth motion only but rather, use a combination straight and upward motion. I wish I had not lost my degital camera I could post some pix for you. Oh well hope this makes sense to you Tom.

Another alternative on curved areas is using a rolled magazine or using a radiator hose or other hose depending on your curvature.

Hi,
It just dawned on me that I would love some tips on taping up the car, and removal of key trim/body parts on the 911 for paint as well. While we're at it.

So, next question. I am down to bare metal (Check my project link below) on the body. Can I do some filler/primer while I'm still working on other panels, or is it not good for primer to sit for a few weeks?

What to do for Bondo Work?
hello. I am looking into doing bondo work on my truck, but i am a little new to this (im only 17) and really dont know where to start. I was hoping someone could tell me everything i need to know to do this, the secrets of the trade. I'm looking at fixing up some rust spots as well as a dent, then touching it up with paint to match the body. I would like it to look very nice and professional, but like i said, i am new to this and really dont know where to start. I need some professional opinions on the best tools to use, good techniques for shaping/sanding, the best brands of bondo and touch up paints...etc. so please, anyone, let me know and give me some pointers. Everything helps. Thanks!
