where to get an early s tachometer

Where can I get a tachometer for a 2.2S motor? Is this available at the dealer? Can I just change the face of a 911T tach to that of a 911S? Also, where can I get a 10,000 rpm tachometer? Thanks.

I would try EASY and PartsHeaven in CA first.

Then I would check with N Hollywood Speedo & Palo Alto Speedo to see if they could make one for me...

How badly do you want/need one?? Does it need to be authentic?

It doesn't have to be authentic. I would like it to look period correct, though. What are my options? Thanks.

DKM,
The above are your best options, in my experience.
The first two (EASY, Partsheaven) are used parts resellers that may have the tach you are looking for. I would try there first of all.

If that approach fails, you can get one of the second two houses (Palo Alto or North Hollywood Speedometer) to restore, recalibrate, change redline, add lcd lighting, etc. to an existing tach that was NOT from an S, but is the same Porsche VDO basic head.

make sure you get a tach from an early car, as sometime in the mid 70's the electrical design changes to a uncompatible type.

Call Pelican Parts, as they have a source which can modifiy and repair your tach.
This source also does speedos.

I would use the Pelican source before the others mentioned because of problems
in the past with those!
