RSR strut inserts the same mounting as regular?

My 'new' 914/6 has real rasied spindle bilstein RSR F struts (threaded body and all). Are the inserts the same physically as the regular and sport bilstein inserts? We were talking about valving at the track and *IF* they still have RSR inserts they are probably way to stiff for the front of the /6. Does anyone know the identifying #s on the inserts to tell the difference? If I send them out to be revalved: Do I have to send the inserts that are in there out, or can I send a old sport set I have out? (it would be a waste of time and money if I did the latter only to find out they don't physically interchange.)

Tnx!
SMD

They all physically interchange.

The RSR valving; 161/160 is just horrible and really should be revalved.

Thanks Steve. Thats what it looked like but I wanted to be sure (and I have a friend that swears there is a bolt in the bottom though I think hes confusing it w/ a boge or kyb type insert.)

Is there a # that identifies a RSR insert? I seem to remember that my old inserts are stamped something like ######-B50 to tell the difference between a sport and HD insert. Problem is that I don't know what insert is in there now until I take it apart - the PO has little paperwork. I searched the bilstein site and found the bilstein part #s but none of them say RSR - I guess if my inserts don't match any one their list I'll definately need to send 'em out.

Oh well, one more thing to add to the 'to do' list

Tnx again,
SMD

All Bilstein inserts used for Bilstein struts; HD-Sport-RSR, use a roll pin near the bottom to secure the insert inside the strut body.

An RSR insert is an RE3-5049 and the stock valving is stamped at the top; 161/160.
