More Gas Tank Questions: Seal, fittings, Etc...
I'm putting my gas tank back in my car and have a few questions:
1) I hear I can just buy a weatherstripping seal at Home Deport to seal the gas tank to the car. Should this seal travel the perimeter of the tank? Or just towards the rear of the tank? Any length measurements would be great. 2) I pulled the fuel filter screen, the drain plug, and the banjo fitting all from the bottom of the tank. Which washers should be used on the fuel filter screen and the drain plug? Copper or paper? Which washers should be used for the banjo fitting? Plastic or copper? I'm getting different info on these and wondering if it matters. Obviously I don't want it to leak.... thanks to all. Ian |

What car do you own??
If you get something at Home Depot they normally sell it in 10' rolls so you should have enough. Check the price, some of the really good seals cost as much as the one you can buy here from Pelican. Check pelican's parts inventory for the gas tank washer.

I am also curious about the torque values for the cap nut on the end of the fuel pump.
