Porsche Crest Is this a factory alarm horn or not?

I recently replaced the hi pitch horn on my 1985 Porsche coupe when I saw this horn, looking like a factory alarm horn.

For as far as I know there is no factory alarm on my car and according to the Bentley's manual, if there was an alarm horn, it should be behind the fuel pump.

Can somebody enlighten me on this one?

Thanks,
Kees.

That is not where th horn should be for the alarm.. it is supposed to be under the steering rack cover plate ( as you said next to the fuel pump). It is the type of horn used on the alarm system.

I found a similar horn in the smugglers box of my '78SC. The alarm module was mounted up front next to the windhsield washer pump where it got wet and disintigrated.

I recently purchased an 82 SC (with a Code Alarm after market system) and am having problems with the siren(s). They just love to go off while I'm sitting at stop lights or am cruising down the freeway. I had a shop rip it out but all they could pull was the the brain and wiring. They couldn't find the siren(s), and they still go off!

Does anyone have any idea where I can locate these damn things? They must be removed and crushed before causing any more embarrassment!

It should be located under the steering rack cover plate and has two wires attached to it.
