How does one fix the shrunken dash??

The leather dash in my '84 is sun damaged and shrunken. Is there a way to stretch it back out? Would wetting it relax the leather back to it's original form? Are their products for this kind of work?

Alex,

Replacement of the dash is the usual solution. Over time, the leather shrinks and warps the foam/vinyl dash. Theoretically, if you were able to remove the dash from the car and remove the leather, you might try reshaping the dash, perhaps with heat.

I've never heard of people successfully doing this but who knows? You might try calling one of the companies that specializes in Porsche interior restoration products to see what they say.

Can you have the cracks filled in then re-skinned at a re-upholster shop?
