finished changing shocks, finally?
For those of you that have followed my saga. I think this may finally be it. I had to undo the front shocks of my 88 turbo again. The bottom portion of the shock insert was not seating properly in the strut. After removing them again, I inspected the inside of the strut and all was good.
I then reinserted the shock and lightly tapped it down with a hammer. Then I reinstalled the whole thing back in. This is definitely a worthwhile tip since just dropping the inserts into the strut may not result in proper seating. Just use a light tap (if your nerves don't get the best of you and find yourself going at it with a lot of repressed anger). I cchecked for looseness and all feels tight. Time for another test ride. It's cold but sunny here in central NJ. Cheers to all, Q. ps. The whole thing (front shocks) took me only 1 hour . this time.
