wurth product questions
Could someone please clarify for me. What is the rubberized undercoating in the rear engine bay (early car - 1971?)
I want to make sure I order the right one(s). I'm thinking it is WURTH SKS, but I've also heard Wurth body Schutz? Is WURTH "stone guard spray" the same as SKS stone guard, but in aerosol form? Is the undercoating in the wheel wells different in some way? OR on the fuel tank? The texture is similar, though the wheelwells have taken much more abuse, in my situation, so it is hard to tell. http://www.wurthusa.com/project/en/leftnavi/catalog/product.php?path=04.0510.jpg OR http://www.wurthusa.com/project/en/leftnavi/catalog/product.php?path=04.0511.jpg Please help me identify the right product(s) for me to use. I want to patch the wheel wells and redo some in the engine bay and respray the fuel tank. The wheel wells and engine bay will be body colored, so paintability is necessary. Thank you, Doug

Kees-
Thanks! Can you confirm: Is SKS Stone Guard the same as Stone Guard spray (but not necessitating the $60 gun)? Harbor freight's gun is cheap, but doesn't seem to work exactly right and is not available any longer (at least searching their website didn't turn it up). Doug

Doug, the aeresol spray is different in chemical make-up. Will it perform differently? You may be best off giving Wurth a call and asking. Note that there are two aeresol products...one with a fine texture the other with medium.
Also, I think you're right it doesn't look like HF carries the gun any longer. If you choose the spray gun route and pay shipping I'll lend you my Wurth guns. (Just keep them clean )

Rick,
Super generous offer. I may take you up on it. I'll call Wurth directly and ask some questions. I may buy my own gun, but will make a determination after talking with them. It is not a bad tool to own. Which gun(s) do you have? Which would you recommend for spraying the SKS? Thanks a bunch, Doug

I ordered a gun and SKS stone guard from an online source which stocked both products. Too bad Pelican doesn't sell these Wurth products.
Rick, I appreciate your offer very much. Doug
